Tsunami
The 26th of December is a black day for Asia. The sea had gone mad! perhaps the sea wanted to have glimpse of the city… Is that the reason why she crossed her frontier and entered the city claiming numerous lives…? or was she hungry that she hauled people into her enormous being to gratify her hunger? Whatever the cause may be the effect was catastrophic. Nobody would have ever anticipated such a disaster. The tsunami in December 2007, which was triggered due to an undersea earthquake, took a toll of many lives leaving many homeless and desperate. Words cannot describe the sufferings of those who lost their loved ones, home and belongings. There was chaos everywhere.
The only rumble that could be heard after the tsunami hit was the howling of people making the atmosphere grave. The air was filled with the stench of corpses that were piled up on open grounds. It was heartrending to see so many dead bodies being given mass funeral.
The Government authorities have been striving hard to bring back life into the victims of this calamity from the time it struck. Despite the aid rendered by the Government to re-establish the lives of the affected by Tsunami, nothing can compensate the loss incurred by the victims of this tragedy.
